Located on Edinburgh’s outskirts, the Edinburgh Leisure owned facility provides top-roping, lead-climbing, bouldering, as well as lessons and equipment hire. With a specialist kids’ climbing area and birthday party facilities, it’s as suitable for children as it is the seasoned climber.
Set in an old church, Alien Rock is an Edinburgh climbing institution that dates back to 1994. Alien Rock has a great range of top roping and lead climbing walls as well as a small bouldering room. The routes are crafted with love by climbing enthusiasts and include starter routes for beginners and complex 7C projects for aficionados. The owners of Alien Rock, also opened the bouldering-only facility Alien Bloc in 2017. Since then, Alien Rock is sometimes referred to as Alien One. You’ll find this charming centre overlooking the River Forth in Newhaven, in the north of the city
